Health Literacy - Lets talk about it! It’s a real thing!
People of color and other underserved groups experience higher rates of illness and death across a wide range of health conditions, limiting the overall health of the nation.
It is important for individuals to take charge of their own health and well-being, as it empowers one to participate actively in healthcare decisions, manage chronic conditions, and prevent illness. It is an essential skill in today's complex healthcare landscape, where the abundance of information and jargon can often be overwhelming. By improving health literacy, individuals can make more informed choices that lead to better health outcomes and ultimately contribute to a healthier society as a whole. (CEU’s pending)
